Luna and Max: The Day the Books Came Alive

Luna loved stories.

Not just a little bit… a sparkly, starry, can’t-sit-still kind of love.

She loved stories about dragons and dancing mice, about deep, dark forests and glittering castles. When Luna opened a book, her eyes would shine and her imagination would whoosh off like a shooting star.

Max loved books too.

But Max loved finding things out. He loved asking questions like,
“Why do bees buzz?”
“How do rockets fly?”
“What would happen if…?”

When Max opened a book, his brain would fizz with ideas, like bubbles in lemonade.

One sunny morning, Luna and Max met in their favourite place… The library.

It was quiet. Too quiet.

Luna tilted her head.
“Do you hear that?”

Max listened carefully.
“It sounds like… whispering.”

They tiptoed between the shelves. The whispering grew louder… and suddenly—

A book flew open!

Then another!

And another!

Pages fluttered, colours swirled, and before they could blink—

A tiny dragon zipped past Luna’s nose.
A pirate ship rocked on a wave near Max’s feet.
A parade of animals marched right across the floor!

“The stories!” gasped Luna. “They’re coming to life!”

Max’s eyes widened. “But why?”

Just then, a soft, twinkling voice filled the room.

“Stories need readers,” it said. “Without them, the magic fades…”

Luna and Max looked at each other.

They knew what to do.

Luna stood tall, her cape fluttering behind her.
“I’ll bring the stories to life with imagination!”

Max grinned, hands on his hips.
“And I’ll help everyone discover new things!”

A golden glow shimmered around them as a book appeared on each of their chests.
